Nick Kritikou
Senior Software Developer | Software Design & Architecture | Mensa Member & 3x Award-Winning Writer
After a brief passage from the Military School of Evelpidon, I chose to follow my true passion: programming and computer science. For the past thirty years, I have been involved in developing robust enterprise applications across heavy industry, automation, gaming, and the tech sector. Through my journey with organizations like Landis & Gyr (ex SIEMENS METERING), Fulgor (Cablel Group), Club Hotel Casino Loutraki, and Epsilon NET, I have gained deep experience optimizing ERP environments, maintaining large accounting ecosystems, and creating custom software. This professional path is complemented by my ongoing engagement in developing independent, personal projects, which further enriches my knowledge of software design and complex systems architecture. I view programming languages purely as tools, as the core of my work lies in requirement analysis, complex problem-solving, and delivering scalable solutions.
The Intersection of Logic & Narrative
Beyond my daily tech stack, my background heavily influences how I approach engineering challenges. As a member of Mensa, I have a deep fascination with algorithmic precision (such as my recently published visual algorithm where prime numbers emerge from periodic motion).
At the same time, I am a 3-time award-winning author by the Pan-Hellenic Writers Association for my short stories. For me, creating an elegant software architecture and weaving a compelling narrative are sides of the same coin. Both require a deep understanding of systems, logic, and human behavior.
When I am not designing software applications, I enjoy practicing gymnastics, engaging with literature, and seeking to understand fields that I am still ignorant of. I love writing my own stories, which I occasionally post on my literature blog, 'The Steps of the Camel'.
I believe that creativity is the most fulfilling way to avoid being selfish: we receive experiences from life, and we ought to give something back. And it depends on each person's unique talents to define the form in which we can return that value. What could be fairer than that?
